One pack for the walk in and the climb itself. The top strap holds a rope coiled across the lid, and the single ice-axe loop and bungee keep a pair of poles out of the way when the path turns into scrambling.
Take the foam back pad out and it doubles as a sit mat at the belay. One size: the shoulder straps suit torsos from 40 to 52 cm.
